Burkina Faso
The Africa Digital Campus (ADC) project launched on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at the Virtual University of Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou.
The launch took place under the distinguished patronage of Mr. Lionel BILGO, the minister of National Education, Literacy and Promotion of National Languages, Mr. Fréderic Ouattara, the Minister of Science Research and Higher Education in Burkina Faso, Mr. Michel Labadie-Director DDUNI IRD France-Delegation Occitanie, Mrs Anne Marie SAWADOGO – Regional gender/education officer – Sahel Regional Directorate AFD (Ouagadougou) and Prof. Jean-Marie Dipama – President Virtual University of Burkina Faso and Mr Laurent Ilboudo – Deputy Regional Director.
Outputs
- About 80 educators have been trained on how to design online courses for e-learners
- More than 20 network engineers have been trained on designing and operating campus networks
- A community of practice comprising of 50 teachers have been established for knowledge exchange on e-learning
Embedded in the Africa Digital Campus project is a quest to contribute to the achieving of the SDGs

ADC supports educators with infrastructure, training and access to knowledge to deliver quality education
Gender Equality - SDG 5
Through capacity building and other efforts, ADC gives women impetus to take active role in the delivery of quality distance education.
Innovation & Infrastructure - SDG 9
ADC fosters the spirit of creativity in educators while availing cutting-edge infrastructure to them for quality delivery of e-learning.
